UL cathodic protection cable. HMWPE insulation (ASTM D1248), ultra-low water absorption. Resists chlorine, acids, salt water.
Application
UL cathodic protection cable per ICEA S-61-402, rated 600V, for impressed current cathodic protection systems. High molecular weight polyethylene (HMWPE) insulation per ASTM D1248 (Type 1, Class C, Cat 5) or HALAR (ECTFE) for chlorine gas resistance. Suitable for deep anode groundbeds, pipelines, storage tanks, well casings, steel piles, marine crafts, dams, and buried/submerged metallic structures. Stranded bare/tinned copper conductor. Direct earth burial, DC lead. 75°C to 90°C. Very low water absorption. Resists galvanic/electrolytic corrosion, gasoline, oil, salt water, acids, alkalis.
Core Strengths
Ordinary XLPE cables absorb moisture, leading to insulation breakdown in submerged groundbeds. Our HMWPE (ASTM D1248) cathodic protection cable has ultra-low water absorption (0.5% max), resists chlorine, acids, salt water. HALAR (ECTFE) optional for extreme chemical resistance.
