Application

IEC 60502-2 single-core ATA cable (6kV to 30kV) for refineries, chemical plants, oil & gas facilities, and ATEX hazardous areas requiring corrosion resistance. Non-magnetic aluminum tape armor prevents eddy currents.

Construction

Conductor: Aluminum (Al), stranded (class 2)

Conductor screen: Semiconductive layer

Insulation: XLPE (cross-linked polyethylene)

Insulation screen: Semiconductive layer

Copper wire screen (or copper tape) – for field uniformity

Inner sheath: PVC or PE

Armor: Aluminum tape (ATA – non‑magnetic)

Outer sheath: PVC or PE (type ST2)

Aluminum conductor – lightweight, cost‑effective

XLPE insulation – 90°C continuous, 250°C short‑circuit

Non‑magnetic aluminum tape armor – eliminates eddy current losses in single‑core AC circuits

Corrosion‑resistant ATA – ideal for chemical plants, refineries, and ATEX hazardous areas

Copper wire screen – uniform electric field, corona suppression, fault return path

Installation: direct burial, ducts, cable trays, or tunnels
