Aluminum Conductor Alloy Reinforced (ACAR) cable has aluminum wires concentrically stranded around a aluminum alloy core.
Application
ASTM B524 aluminum conductor alloy reinforced (ACAR) for overhead distribution and transmission lines requiring higher mechanical strength than AAC, longer spans, and use as bus-bar in substations. 6201-T81 aluminum alloy core with 1350-H19 aluminum stranded layers. Offers excellent balance of mechanical strength and electrical performance.
Core Strengths
Distribution lines need higher strength than AAC but without steel core weight. Our ACAR uses 6201 alloy core reinforcing aluminum strands—same corrosion resistance as AAC with higher strength and longer span capability. Ideal for substation bus-bars. ASTM B524.
